Early voting is available in the Borough Assembly Chambers (across from the library) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday starting September 14, 2020 until October 5, 2020. Please bring your ID with you when you come in to vote. We encourage everyone to take advantage of the option to early vote!
As a reminder, the Clerk’s Office is a polling place. Alaska Statutes mandates that during the hours the polls are open(8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), no person in the polling place or within 200 feet of any entrance to the polling place may attempt to persuade a person to vote for against a candidate, proposition, or question.
This includes any discussions of candidates, displaying campaign signs, bumper stickers, or wearing campaign buttons. Please advise the Clerk’s Office staff if you see a potential violation.
Sec. 15.15.170. Prohibition of political persuasion near election polls. During the hours the polls are open, a person who is in the polling place or within 200 feet of any entrance to the polling place may not attempt to persuade a person to vote for or against a candidate, proposition, or question. The election officials shall post warning notices at the required distance in the form and manner prescribed by the director.
