NOTICE OF VACANCY

The Kodiak Island Borough is seeking applicants to fill a one-year vacant seat on the Assembly an appointment to expire October 2023. Applicants must be qualified voters of the borough and residents of the borough for at least one year at the time of filing. The applicant may not hold any other compensated borough office or borough employment, or elected position in the state or federal government, while in office. Applications are available here. The deadline to turn in application is November 4, 2022. If you have any questions, please call the Borough Clerk’s Office at 486-9310.

Assembly members are elected by an Assembly/Manager form of government to establish policy for the Kodiak Island Borough.

 Composition & Term


  • The Assembly consists of seven members elected at large.
  • The term of an Assembly member is three years or until a successor is selected and qualified.
