Applications must be received by the Assessors Office by January 15 of the year for which the exemption is being requested. Applying for the exemption does not guarantee the exemption will be granted.
State Statute (AS 29.45.030(3)) addresses property used exclusively for nonprofit religious, charitable, cemetery, hospital, or educational purposes.
Any property used exclusively for nonprofit religious, charitable, cemetery, hospital, or educational purposes (classroom space only) may qualify for an exemption.
Property owners may submit the application along with the required documentation to the Assessor’s Office for consideration.
