Board Information
The
Architectural/Engineering Review Board (ARB) is a seven member standing committee of the Borough Assembly. The board is made up of Borough residents who preferably have the qualifications and an interest in the building/construction industry. This specific mix allows for a broad spectrum of expertise to assist in reviewing all architectural and engineering proposals and design drawings for Borough owned buildings and public funded facilities.
This board works closely with the Engineering and Facilities Department including the Projects Office to select a project architect and to make final design recommendations on public facilities to the Borough Assembly.
This board is an integral and important component when reviewing publicly funded facilities undertaken throughout the Kodiak Island Borough and includes structures like schools, fire stations, pools and other publicly funded facilities.
Members are appointed by the Borough Mayor and serve a three year term.
